Description:

The Stanley Street Treatments and Rehabilitation (SSTAR) Integrated Care Facility is a state of the art 43,450 square foot, three-story building. This multi-year development project serves as the new headquarters for SSTAR, a leading provider of integrated healthcare services and is designed to support a wide range of clinical, treatment and patient services. The facility is built on a site that was once home to a mill facility dating back to the late 1800’s, which was considered a brownfield requiring extensive remediation and environmental cleanup. This complex environmental work was necessary to transform the site into a safe and sustainable location for the new facility. The project also included the separation and installation of new utilities, including water, fire suppression and sewer services. A significant aspect of the project was the preservation of an existing chimney that holds historic significance to the city. The chimney was carefully integrated into the design. An additional feature is a thoughtfully designed community viewing corridor that connects the interior of the building to an exterior courtyard, viewing terraces on the upper floors and a full-service cafeteria.
