Description:

This project is a renovation to Rhode Island Hospital for Brown University Health. The roughly 10,000 square foot renovation to a portion of the original facility consisted of four phases over the course of 14 months, while still making it possible for hospital staff to work efficiently while work was being done on the building. Phase one was a full renovation of the formers presidents wing into guest services featuring one on one meeting offices family meeting and conference rooms, along with a physician’s lounge and work area. Phase two consisted of a full renovation to the main lobby, main entrance and main entrance canopy. It features full demolition of the original exterior canopy and replacement with a decorative steel and glass canopy, complete with integral lighting, drainage and a new sidewalk cast for improved circulation. The entrance features a new vestibule with automatic sliding doors. The lobby features refinished terrazzo flooring, decorative serpentine ceiling lights with a modern circular reception desk. Phase three takes an existing physician’s lounge and converts it into two lavatories. Phase four fully transforms two original lavatories boarding the main bank of elevators into boutique seating areas with digital displays.
